Wendy-Marie Teichert has been playing with watercolor since her kindergarten
days at the Sacramento Waldorf School. While her formal education has
been in other subjects—she earned a BA in Liberal Arts from Thomas
Aquinas College and an MS in Plant Biology from UC Davis—she
has taken the opportunities offered by Sacramento’s extensive
talent to develop her artistic skills.
Beginning in 1997 with a watercolor class taught by Gary Pruner at
American River College, she continued to study color and composition
at the School of Light and Color (Fair Oaks), with instruction from Susan
Sarback in oils and Irene Lester in pastels.
Her watercolor mentors are Jeannie Vodden, Sandy Delehanty,
David Lobenberg and Katherine Lemke-Waste.
